Staying at Erbacher Hof (conference venue)
Our conference venue, Erbacher Hof (address: Grebenstraße 24, 55116 Mainz), has some rooms available in different configurations. Conference participants can sign up for these rooms on a first-come-first-served basis during the registration process.
There are single, double and twin rooms available. Rates are between 84 EUR per room per night and 107 EUR per room per night. All rates include breakfast.
PLEASE NOTE: The conference organisers will pass on your name to Erbacher Hof, you do NOT need to contact the venue directly yourself. You will however have to pay for your room at check-out. Moreover, the venue has a relatively strict cancellation policy:
- full refund if you cancel before June 10, 2022
- 70% refund if you cancel before June 20, 2022
- 50% refund if you cancel before July 1, 2022
- 30% refund if you cancel before July 10, 2022
- no refund from July 10, 2022

A credit card needs to be provided at the time of booking to secure the room; payment will be made directly at the hotel at check-out. Also note the early deadlines for booking at some locations!

Other hotels in the vicinity
Several other hotels are available close to the conference venue in the city centre – you can find a selection on our map here.
Several hotels are located conveniently close to the main train station (Mainz HBF/Hauptbahnhof), but not that close to the conference venue, which is right next to the cathedral. Note that some hotels (InterCity Hotel, for example) offer complimentary tickets for public transport so that you can take the bus or tram to the venue. Hyatt Regency and Hilton Mainz as well as some smaller hotels further away are located directly on the banks of the Rhine, and some rooms offer beautiful views. Make sure to enquire at the time of booking whether such rooms are available (they are more expensive …).
Booking engines
Many hotels offer special rates either through the hotel websites or through booking portals such as booking.com, Expedia, Trivago, Momondo and others. Website rates are often confusing due to differences regarding breakfast (included or not?), cancellation policies (non-refundable = cheap, but often 100% cancellation fee immediately after the booking; fully flexible = expensive, but often no charge for cancellations up to 24 hours prior to arrival) and payment options (pre-paid = cheaper, paying at check-out = expensive). Be sure to pick a rate that suits your needs!
Parking
For those of you travelling to Mainz by car, please be aware that parking in the city centre is scarce and expensive – hotels charge up to 20 € for 24 hours and often require reservations. Some hotels have spaces in (public) parking garages at special daily rates for guests. Please check the individual hotel’s website for further information.
